A Wine Bar in Hapjeong That Actually Does Lunch Right

Komfy (komfy) is one of those spots that works harder than its name suggests. It's a wine bar, yes — but show up at noon and you're eating wood-fired pizza and pasta, not just waiting for evening to happen.

What to Expect

This is a second-floor wine bar on a side street off Yanghwa-ro, about three minutes from Hapjeong Station. The vinyl record aesthetic is deliberate — think low lighting, a relaxed playlist, the kind of space that doesn't feel like it's trying to impress you with exposed concrete and Edison bulbs. It's more comfortable than cool, which is kind of the point.

During the day it functions as a proper lunch spot. Evenings shift toward wine and bar snacks. If you come expecting a full dining experience after 9 PM, recalibrate. The kitchen does the heavy lifting before sunset.

One honest note: there's no English menu. For a place this close to a major transit hub with clear international foot traffic, that's a gap. Most dishes are easy enough to point at, and the staff have been patient with non-Korean speakers, but just know going in.

What to Order

Truffle butter pizza — this is the one. It comes out of what tastes like a wood-fired oven, thin and slightly charred at the edges, with truffle butter doing exactly what you want it to do: rich, aromatic, not overdone. If this is on the menu when you visit, get it.

Pasta — the lunch menu leans Italian-adjacent, and the pasta options are solid for a wine bar that isn't primarily a restaurant. Nothing revelatory, but well-executed and filling if you're building up to an afternoon of walking around Hongdae or Mangwon.

Wine by the bottle — the selection skews approachable rather than encyclopedic. A few people have had good experiences just asking the staff for a recommendation based on what they're eating. That seems to work better than staring at the list for ten minutes.

One word of caution: if pizza feels heavy or oily on a particular day, it might just not be your moment for it. A couple of reviews mention the oil level being higher than expected. It hasn't been a consistent complaint, but worth knowing if you're sensitive to that.

Atmosphere & Vibe

The vinyl concept is subtle — it's not a themed bar where someone explains the concept to you on arrival. It just feels like a place that takes music seriously without making a performance of it. Evenings apparently have more energy, but the afternoon version is genuinely pleasant: quiet, unhurried, good light through the windows. One visitor mentioned cherry blossom views, which tracks given the location near the Hapjeong riverbank stretch.

Good for groups, good for dates, fine for solo if you're comfortable with a glass of wine and a book. It doesn't have the energy of a place that's trying to fill every seat.

What People Are Saying

"The place doesn’t really match the photos I had seen on some platforms. The vinyl record concept feels trendy, but during my visit it didn’t translate into much of a music experience, maybe it’s different in the evenings since I went for lunch. The pizza was extremely oily, almost soaked in olive oil, which made it heavy and left me with a rather greasy slice. Also, the lack of an English menu felt quite strange, especially in such an international city. Overall, it felt quite average and I can’t say I left particularly impressed."

"Peak atmosphere. Good to come if you like low key modern vinyl bar not like oldie “7080” pub kind of thing. Not a lot of these around now. Definitely recommend!"

"We stopped in for a drink and had a nice bottle of wine and coffee. The food around us looked amazing so we will have to come back. The atmosphere was cosy and the views of the cherry blossoms were beautiful!"
