Celebrity-Endorsed Cafes and Restaurants in Seoul

Where Seoul's celebrities actually eat and drink — from smoky gopchang joints in Seocho to wood-fired bagels in Hannam.

Celebrity food posts in Korea aren't just marketing. When an idol or actor shares a spot on their feed or YouTube channel, it's usually because they genuinely go there — and locals notice. These four spots have real fan followings, real regulars, and food worth showing up for regardless of who posted about them first.

Jingu Gopchang

01 · Seocho District

Jingu Gopchang

"Go early or wait ninety minutes."

Gopchang$$🚇 Gangnam Station, 6 min walk4.6

Jingu Gopchang has been pulling in late-night crowds in Seocho for years, and the regulars here aren't just tourists chasing a trend. This is the kind of place where the smoke clings to your clothes and you don't mind. Order the gopchang, daechang, makchang, and yeomtong — all four cuts are worth it — and don't skip the fried rice at the end. That last move, scraping the crispy bits off the grill into rice, is the whole point.

WOW Shin nae tteok(spicy Tteokbokki)

02 · Yongsan District

WOW Shin nae tteok(spicy Tteokbokki)

"Get the tteokbokki with garlic dipping fries."

Tteokbokki$🚇 Sookmyung Women's Univ. (Garwol) Station, 3 min walk4.5

WOW Shin Nae Tteok has been on the radar since at least 2015, long before tteokbokki became a global talking point. It's in Yongsan, the price is low, and the spice level hits exactly where it should. The real order is the set: tteokbokki plus the fries topped with garlic dipping sauce and sweet chili. Don't customize this one — just get the combo.

Freak

03 · Yongsan District

Bakery & Cafe🚇 Itaewon Station, 3 min walk5

Freak is a tower-style bakery cafe three minutes from Itaewon Station, and Oh My Girl's Seunghee posted her cheese sogeumppang from here — which, for the record, is genuinely good. What makes it useful is the structure: each floor has a different vibe, so you can actually find a quiet seat in Itaewon, which is rarer than it sounds. It hasn't blown up yet, so even weekends are manageable.

Kokkili Bagel Hannam

04 · Yongsan District

Kokkili Bagel Hannam

Bakery & Cafe$$🚇 Hannam Station, 13 min walk4.3

Kokkili Bagel's Hannam branch does something most bagel shops in Seoul don't — they fire theirs in an oak wood-burning oven imported from Italy, and you can taste the difference in the slight char on the crust. Former Wonder Girls member and actress Ahn Sohee named it her number one bagel spot in Seoul on her YouTube channel. The second and third floors have Han River views. Plain bagels at 2,800 won sell out first, always.

Practical tip: Jingu Gopchang gets crowded on weekday evenings and the tables are close together — go early or expect a wait. For Kokkili Bagel, weekends before 10am is the move if you want the plain. Freak and WOW Shin Nae Tteok are both manageable walk-ins, but WOW is cash-friendly and quick, so it works as a mid-afternoon stop between Itaewon and Hannam. All four spots are clustered enough that you could cover two or three in a single afternoon-to-evening run.
